Oriental Turtle Dove (Streptopelia orientallis), Hula valley, 23/Oct/07
On October 23rd, an adult Oriental Turtle Dove was photographed at the western canal of the Hula valley re-flooded area (Amir Balaban et al.).
Due to the difficulty in identifying this species, its true status in Israel is unclear. As for now, this is only the 4th fully documented record, with the previous one dating back to 2003'.
