Below is a summary featuring the most interesting observations from this month, based on reports from the ISRABIRDNET mailing list and other sources.
Cream-coloured Courser (Cursorius cursor): 1 at HaSharon park, south of Givaat Olga, 02/Aug (N. Kirschenbaum). Extremely rare on the coast.

Terek Sandpiper (Xenus cinereous): 1 at Tirat Tzi fish ponds, 21-23/Aug (A. Rinot et al.); 1 at Ma'agan Michael fishponds, 27/Aug (C. Rozen).

Red Knot (Calidris canutus): 1 at Achziv beach, 30/Aug (D. Hoffman).

Black Tern (Chlydonias niger): 1 at Nachsholim, 09/Aug (T. Kahn); at Ma'agan Michael fishponds, 1 on 13/Aug (S. Agmon), 1 on 27/Aug (C. Rozen) and 3 on 31/Aug (S. Agmon).

Lesser Crested Tern (Sterna benegalensis): 1 off Ashkelon beach, 21/Aug (R. Shaish).

Bridled Tern (Sterna anaethetus): the birds from Betzet beach were last seen on 22/Aug (O & T. Horine, S. Alterman).

Rose-coloured Starling (Sturnus roseus): 1 at Ma'agan Michael, 07/Aug (B. Granit, T. Kahn), 1 at Tirat Zvi, 23/Aug (T. Kahn).

Siskin (Carduelis spinus): 1 at Bet Zait, Jerusalem, 30/Aug (R. Mizrachi). Rare in summer.
