November 2004 - second half

Barak Granit

Eilat and the Arava
A male Grey Hypocolius seen and trapped at the bird park (17/11, Noam weiss & Reuven Yosef) with no sightings on the next day.
The Intermediate Egret was last seen on the same day in Yotvata sewage, and a juv Goshawk observed at Neot Smadar (Noam weiss) with another sighting on the 22nd (Eyal Vaanunu). On the 28th a Yellow-browed/Hume's Warbler seen at Yeelim Park , Yotvata, and a very late/wintering Barred Warbler seen at Shulamit Garden , Eilat (Tomer Landsberger, Dubi Shapiro at al).

Central Negev
On the 19th One Ringed Ouzel and 60 Fieldfares seen near Mizpe Ramon, the flock and a Redwing seen again on the 27th.(Tomer Landsberger, Dubi Shapiro at al). Probably the same Ringed Ouzel seen at the same place on the 22nd with additional Mistle Thrush and 11 Syrian Serins (Eyal Vanunu). At Sde-Boker 3 Dotterels and 10 Syrian Serins on the 22nd by the same observer.


Ma'agan Micha'el
A Red-breasted Merganser , an adult Purple Gallinule , Jack Snipe and 14 curlews recorded on the 21st (Ben Dvir).


Jerusalem
The second Isabelline Shrike for Jerusalem region seen and ringed in the Gazzel Valey On the 20th. (JBO teem). A male Cyprus Warbler and a Woodcock ringed at the JBO on the 24th.


Beit Shemesh region
A male Mourning Wheatear and an Eastern Stonechat were seen in Sansan-Fukin wadis on the 21st (Ezra Hadad). A female Red-breasted Merganser seen on the 24th at Tzoraa (Amir Balaban), reported again on the 27th. first Pygmy Cormorant for the region seen at Revadim on the 25th and at the same area a female Red-crested Pochard , a late/winter record of Short-toed Eagle and about 10 Fieldfares has been recorded (Ezra Hadad).


Jaffa Port
Unidentified Storm-petrel seen on the 23rd (T. Landsberger). An Owl species (prob. Short-eared) migrating south over the sea was the highlight of the storm of the 26-27th. with additional 7 Arctic Skuas , 1 Gannet , 2 Yelkuan Shearwaters and 2 Mediterranean Gulls (Barak Granit, Nir Sapir at al.).
