Below is a summary featuring the most interesting observations from this month, based on reports from the ISRABIRDNET mailing list and other sources.
Following is a list of rarities recorded in Israel during the period 25/4 - 25/5/10:

Brown Booby - one remained off Eilat's North Beach (and Aqaba) all month.

Great Snipe - 2 at Hula reserve, 20/5; 2 at Hazor, 21/5. Moshe Cohen from kibutz hazor.

Red Knot - 1 at KM20, Eilat, 6/5 Paul Sterry.

male Caspian Plover was at K20 7/5 T.Siman Tov.

Icterine Warbler at Neot Smadar May 6th Paul Sterry.

Red Phalarope - 1 at IBRCE, Eilat, 21-23/5.

Long-tailed Skua - several off Eilat's North Beach during early May. Roni Livne, Avi Meir, et al.

On 12.5.10 at Azuz area near a drinking point Hill Sparrow about 100 including 2 family with 3 nestlings chasing their parents very loudly. Amir Ben Dov.

Black Bush Robin - 2 at Yotvata, 7-8/5/10. Rei Segali.

Red-headed Bunting - 1 stunning male at Nizzana, 15/5. 2nd for Israel, first was in 1979. Amir Ben Dov.

Temminck's, Bar-tailed, and Dunn's are near the end of a second cycle of breeding. Jonatan Merav.
