Below is a summary featuring the most interesting observations from this month, based on reports from the ISRABIRDNET mailing list and other sources.
Diver sp. (Gavia sp.): 2 off Eilat's north beach, 22nd (B. Granit, T. Landsberger).

Lesser Frigatebird (Fregata ariel): 1 juvenile off Eilat's north beach, 14th (U. Paz), 3rd Israel record.

Crested Honey Buzzard (Pernis ptilorynchus): 2 above Eilat mts, 28th (J. Meyrav).

Dotterel (Charadrius morinellus): 3, Ramat Sirin, Jurden valley, 6th-7th (T. Kahn, N. Israeli), very rare in spring.

Caspian Plover (Charadrius asiaticus): 1, seen at night time at K20, Arava, 21st (N. Weiss); 4 at Km 37 compost heaps, Arava, 23rd (B. Granit, T. Landsberger).

White-tailed Lapwing (Vanellus leucurus): 1 at Ma'ayan Tzvi fishponds, 14th (S. Haham); 1 at Elifaz's sewage, Arava, 27th (R. Livne, J. Meyrav).

Broad-billed Sandpiper (Limicola falcinellus): 17 at Km 20 saltpans, Arava, 29th (R. Mizrachi).

Terek Sandpiper (Xenus cinereus): 1 at Ma'ayan Tzvi fishponds, 05-14/Apr (N. Weiss et al.).

Bar-tailed Godwit (Limoza laponica): 1 at Ma'ayan Tzvi fishpond, 13th onwards (T. Landsberger, Y. Dax et al.).

Whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus): a flock of 22 at Km 20 saltpans, 17th (T. Landsberger, A. Cohen).

Great Snipe (Galinago media): 1 at Yotvata's sewage factory, 27th onwards, very rare in recent years (J. Meyrav).

Red-necked Phalarope (Phalaropus fulicarius): 2 at the IBRC and 1 at Km 20 saltpans, Eilat, 8th (J. Meyrav); 1-2 at Ma'ayan Tzvi fishponds, 13th-22nd (T. Landsberger, Y. Dax); 3 at Km 20 saltpans on the 29th (R. Mizrachi, R. Livne, B. Granit).

Pomarine Skua (Stercorarius pomarinus): up to 18 off Eilat's north beach, 19th (Swedish birders).

Mediterranean Gull (Larus melanocephalus): 1 adult, Sh'faim shore, 2nd (A. Ben-dov, E. Dvir); 1 2nd summer off Eilat's north beach, 29th (B. Granit, R. Mizrachi); 1 adult, Ma'ayan Tzvi fishponds, 30th (A. Cohen).

Lesser Crested Tern (Sterna bengalensis): 1 off Eilat's north beach, 19th (A. Geffen).

Crested Tern (Sterna bergii): 1 1st summer bird, Eilat's north beach, 28th (R. Mizrachi, R. Livne, B. Granit), probably the same seen in March.

White-winged Black Tern (Chlidonias leucopterus): an estimated 50,000 birds on the evening of the 21st (Swedish birders) off Eilat's north beach, followed by a few thousands on 22nd-24th (B. Granit, T. Landsberger). This is the largest number ever recorded in Israel.

Oriental Skylark (Alaudu gulgula): 1 at Km 19 fields, Arava, 23rd (B. Granit, T. Landsberger).

Yellow-headed Wagtail (Motacilla flava lutea): 1 at Km 20 saltpans, 08th-11th (J. Meyrav et al.); 7 at Yotvata's circular field, Arava, 22nd (B. Granit, T. Landsberger); Singles seen in the Arava area throughout the month.

Black Bush Robin (Cercotrichas podobe): 1 at kibbutz Yahel, Arava, 8th-10th (E. Dvir, P. Geffen); 1 ringed at IBRC Eilat, 20th (Y. Dax, N. Weiss et al.).

White-throated Robin (Irania gutturalis): 1 at Mt. Havooshit, Hermon, 27th (E. Banker).

Cyprus pied Wheatear (Oenanthe cyproaca): 1 at Ramat Sirin, 04-05/Apr (T. Kahn, N. Israeli); 1 male at Shizzafon 14-18/Apr (J. Meyrav, A. Cohen, T. Landsberger et al.).

Icterine Warbler (Hippolais icterina): 1 ringed at IBRC Eilat, 29th (R. Yossef, Y. Wasserlauf et al.).

Goldcrest (Regulus regulus): 2 at Sacker Garden, Jerusalem, 10th (Y. Perlman).

Rose-coloured Starling (Sturnus roseus): 1 at kibbutz Lotan, 4th (J. Meyrav); 1, kibbutz S'de Itzhak, Hefer valley, 23rd (E. Bar-tov, A. Meyrose); 1 male at IBRC Eilat, 29th (Y. Wasserlauf et al.).

Pale Rock Sparrow (Carpospiza brachydactyla): 2 at Yotvata's circular field, 17th (G. Perlman et al.).
