Mt Hermon 29.05.11 (Main Area)

Greetings, Birders
Nurit and I were seeking flowers on Hermon along the main road up to the lower cable station. Needless to say, I was distracted from time to time: there was a passage of about 300 Honey Buzzards up the mountain between 09:30 and 10:00. I thought it was getting late for Cretzschmar's Buntings, but I saw one pair beside the road. There was an adult Egyptian Vulture briefly over ma'ale golani. Also noted 2 newly-fledged broods of the local Black redstart and, similarly, a brood of Black-eared Wheatears.
cheers, Francis
